Ali's adult tooth grew in behind her baby teeth. Her dentist recommended we pull the front two out as soon as it erupted so that the adult teeth would be able to move into place better. All I told her about our appointment was that Dr. Lad's son - also Dr. Lad - wanted to see her extra tooth. I was afraid she would get all riled up if she knew we were going in for extractions. He was really great with her. He just put her teeth to "sleep" and she didn't feel the extra "juice" that he injected into her. She was a real trooper throughout the whole thing. She didn't cry or complain. They were impressed with her. Afterwards she was and still is very proud. She tells and shows everyone her missing teeth. I even caught her practicing how she would tell her friend, Zachy about it!
The tooth fairy left a certificate, a dollar coin, and a token for the carousel! So, we all had a celebratory evening at the mall. We were mostly celebrating her bravery. I hope she doesn't think we're going to do this for every lost tooth! In any case, it was a lot of fun!
