Grrreat news!

Stim test results were given back today! We are absolutely amazed! Josiah's body makes enough cortisol. This is great news! Dr. Chao called and gave us the results. We no longer need an endocrinologist. I didn't even know what they were before all of this. This test has lifted a life time of extra stress. They trained us to inject him with cortef if he fell down or bled pretty badly. The plan was as he grew older we would teach him how to inject himself. No we don't have to anymore! He can be run and play without a hovering overprotective mother....well, we'll see. Another hurdle has been knocked down. YES! God is good!

Psalm 27:13-14 I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

    funny, my word verification is "shoacure" - kind of like how cole mueller used to say "sure" cure. :)
    so yes, this is great news.
    but also, feeling some skepticism of where medicine is now that due to malpractice-lawsuit-happiness these people have to be so focused on CYA to the extent that you're bombarded with every worst possible scenario... maybe all the nissen fundiplication and cortisol was an extreme risk but... i wish there were a less stressful way to inform you of the risks.

    This is true. We don't know anything for sure. But, we do know that he was not born with cortisol deficiency. So, it may be that when they tested him, his body was really stressed so at that one point in time he did. That's why the stim test was done over a period of an hour. This was what our endocrinologist was hoping for.
