Our birthdays

So this is the second year I get to celebrate my birthday with my son. It has been quite as the mother of this one. He has brought so much heartache and most of all joy to our family. We have never known love like this. Today was his birthday party. We really went all out. We rented a 5 in 1 bouncer and tables and chairs. We invited everyone who was a part of team "Bring Josiah home!" It was a really great day. My amazing husband put this slide show together of his first year. Everyone says the first year is always the hardest for babies born with cleft lip and palates. Ours was no exception to that rule. If you saw it and want to see it again here it is. If you haven't seen it, here it is for you. I'll have to borrow the words from my new friend from the Ni hao ya'll blog. "God's stories are always the most beautiful."

  2. ack! happy belated birthday teresa!!!
love the slideshow, it's amazing to watch the transformation. and when did josiah start walking??? i just realized that we don't really hear much about those typical baby milestones, and i wonder if it's because this is #3 or because the typical milestones are comparably easy. :)

  3. Wendy,
You're so funny! Yes, I had to post before I went to bed. You know me so well. This would be your 3rd time - all in one day!

  4. Grace,
Thanks! He started taking some steps maybe two weeks ago. Now he just wants to walk! Everyone says he is so active. =0) It is a lot of fun and a little dangerous with our hardwood floors. But he does have his helmet for now.

  8. Besides being the coolest 1 year old birthday party we've attended, it was definitely the most meaningful. Thank you for letting us be a part of team Josiah and sharing God's work in his life.

I still have the picture in my mind of your whole family blowing out the candles on the birthday cake... that was my favorite moment of the party--touched by all you went through the past year and the faithfulness of our Lord.

  9. Great job, Ed!! I've treasured every one of your slideshows for the kids, but this one takes the cake. It was a beautiful reminder of God's goodness in every joyous and heart-breaking step of Josiah's life so far. My heart tore and celebrated with each event.

We are so grateful to be a part of the team backing him up in prayer and will always be cheering him and you guys on!

Thanks for posting that beautiful video, Tree! Also, thanks for letting us watch him walk.. a victorious walk it is!! :)

Happy Birthday to two amazingly strong troopers who bring such joy into our lives and inspire us all!
